Movement was definately the key for the bluegills. The crappies were caught both jigging and deadsticking.

Slightly after dark I'll catch a few .Not this excellent size though!!!Congratulations.Maybe I'll have to stick it longer after this evidence!
Now ,were the gills reacting and hitting to movement or deadsticking?

It was really a shocker for us as well to keep catching bluegills long after the sun went down. We caught them right up until 10 pm when we called it quits. The water clarity was very poor and visibility was only about 18 inches. I fished this exact same area a week ago, and could see my jig on the bottom in about 12 feet of water. How wierd is that? I will have some more pictures to add of the 'gills we caught at night.
One more thing to add, the bluegills were VERY finicky and sometimes I would have the same fish on my flasher for 5-10 minutes before I could entice a bite.

You had bluegill biting after dark!??!!!? We need to know more! Usually the bluegill quit for me at dusk. How clear is the water?
