Ah nice, that sounds real good. I would like to get some more of these to replace my spincasting reels, but it's gonna have to wait a bit.

Those are nice, I have a AV15 I put on a little 4.5 foot rod for my bluegills, a couple of 30's one rigged for CC and the other for crappie, and a nice 55 baitfeeder I use for bluecats.  I am considering getting a 65 or 90 for the real big cats but have not had the time or money to look at them yet.  I have been real happy with them and plan to replace most of my other reels as they wear out with Okumas.

And Zach, it's the AV20a

The Okuma Avenger was talked up pretty good in an installment of the Palmetto Kayak Fisherman 'blog. You may wish to google them and check it out.

The rod is a shakespeare excursion.

Ah that's good news, because it feels really good. Zach, it is an Okuma Avenger, i don't remember the model number though. I'll look at the paperwork i have and i'll see if it's on there. The rod is a rod i bought not knowing it was a spinning rod years ago, and it was just some 15 dollar shakespeare ultralight. next time i look at it i'll get some info.

I think this is an Okuma, but not sure what model, I think the 15 or 20 but wanted to know for sure.

Also what are the details on the rod?

Chris, everything I have heard about Okuma is great.  I got a little ultra lite made by them.  I really like it alot. Enjoy
