Dale , those were blue gill and red ear. The blue gill were sufacing.

Surfacing Bluegill, 100 yrds from shore in deep water. The red ear were in 6' of water just off shore on bottom. Blue gill were in schools the size of a pickup bed and larger. It was no fun on a 2 wt. fly rod, but somebody had to do it
