Ha Ha Jen I like eating the Trout. I sacrificed one poor 5"BlueGill but safely released a bunch hopefully to grow like that 9.5 I got yesterday. This small natural pond produced a 9.5" BGill.That thrills me!

John, if you're gonna feed nasty snakes, feed em those stinkin trout. God save the Bluegill!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Troy -This snake only looks like it has a wide head in this photo because it's spreading its jaws to wolf down a 5" BlueGill. His head really is shaped about like my thumb. I don't think it's wishful thinking on my part to say this is not a CottonMouth or poisonous snake but a Water snake.
Joe -when you got bit by a water snake is it painful or just like a pinch? I fish where this one (the largest) and two others always hang out .

Definitely a Cottonmouth, look at the shape of the head...it's a wide head, indicating a poisonous snake.
