I hear ya Greg! What really stinks is when they smack me square in the middle of the back while I'm in my floaty-boat. Can't reach it, no one around to help out, way out in the middle of the lake.

Keith, I bend my barbs down also. I pierced my ear with a heavily weight seal-bugger. That was my only piecing and hopefully my last.
Great looking chuck and duck fly.
You gotta watch it when casting this fly! It's actually heavy enough to cast with light spinning gear. I always bend down the hook barb. Good for the fish, better for the back of my head when I get careless.
