I remember catching bullheads by the bucket during the day, when I lived in MN. According to what Ive read later, the bullhead generally is not a particularly fussy fish when it comes to daytime feeding. At least not the common ones.

Like all cats, there is little doubt they will feed at night. And those greys are really nice looking.

Grey Bullhead. Sqared tail, not forked like a channel or blue, the lower jaw extends slightly forward of the upper. Google up a pic and compare.

So what kind of cats are these then?

And they tasted better than ANY channel cat or blue, right? As good as any flathead? I caught one of those once. I'd already eaten it when I found out it was the Mississippi state record grey bullhead... DOH!!! But MAN, was that a tasty fish! 6 lbs even. Caught at night on chicken livers. The bullheads are truly night feeders... unless they're REAL hungry I guess. I've caught yellow bullheads in the daytime, but never greys or black bullheads. Did they get their teeth on you? Bulheads bite HARD when you're trying to put them on the stringer!
