Those sure are beautiful!!! Lepomis are not only great fighters for there size, they can give tropical species a run for their money in colors.

Nice longears- I catch lots of them here in Kentucky in some of our smaller creeks- Just wish they were larger! Sure are neatly colored fish though!!

They do not get very big at all. This is a slightly above average specimen for the creek I fish.

Drop Shot, I notice there are definitely some variations between longears. I'm not sure if they're recognized as different species or not, but here's a couple pics from a different river system to the west of me. I got permission from the guy that caught them from another forum I frequent.

Beautiful!!! They look totally different up here though, the Northern variety, I'll have to get some pics on next time i get one.
