My thoughts also Tony .Thanks for the input .Its a river system that turns into Pompton lake where there are older big Gills I suspect .This is two miles up the river from the lake where I've seen very few Bluegills .I still cant imagine an immature of only a few years old getting this size. I am waiting for Bruce Condello to give me his take .The first I ever heard of a 'Cuckold' was from him.

I wondered about the average size you see in that BOW John.....there are instances where female BG display the scale tipping that is demonstrated in this photo.

It's hard to say...the coloration and scale tipping seem to lean toward male, while the smaller opercular flap is more indicative of a female. Curious photo!
