I suspect that is why they split the tails on Trout Magnets and Beetle Spins. This small diameter pretty much has to be poured on a hook to end up looking right.

BPS carries trout Magnets also and they are in town. I didn't see this color but I should check on line (ship to store is free). The one I have is smaller diameter than the magnet which does make it more limber.

the academy sports  carries a lot of different colors- styles of trout  magnates

Something I've found is the trout magnets are kinda stiff. Your other one looks "rubbery," like it might have a more lifelike presentation.

After taking that last picture of the Trout Magnet for size reference, it got slipped on a hook and put away in the fly box instead of being returned to the spin tackle box it came out of.

Another picture, next to a Trout Magnet (In a different color; just for size reference). Pretty close.

I think I may try to find the Trout Magnets. If I order them direct, shipping will double the price. I can get 8 with 2 1/64 oz dart heads for under $2 from Amazon as an add on with free shipping. I just have to remember to do that next time I need to order something.

Closest thing I see commonly available is the Trout Magnet in that color:

I would check the Kelly's website. May not be a perfect match but close. I've used htese in the past in about 3 inch pre rigged size

That's a good question; I don't see these everywhere but I did buy it over the counter. I see the  ones that are slightly bigger and more of a poured foam that is formed around a long hook all over the place but I don't do as good with those. I will keep an eye out; I need to get more for myself. I think I got them in a pack of 3 or  so with short leaders attached (like it is part of a rig) that I cut off.

Is it a local thing, where you live?
Can it be purchased by the rest of us?
