GLAD  IM NOT THE ONLY ONE ON OLD HICKORY; CATCHING DINKS !  I  STILL THINK ITS BECAUSE OF THE FLOOD WE HAD A FEW YEARS AGO;; THE LAKE JUST HASNT BEEN  THE SAME SINCE THEN !

Old Hickory is an interesting lake. Bluegill don't size well probably due to genetics. The World record Walleye came from here but our Walleye don't reproduce naturally anymore. Tremendous amounts of forage baitfish and a productive system overall. The lower end of the lake in most years suffers from low oxygen levels which results in a shallow (12') thermocline. No aquatic vegetation also hurts. There are other lakes in TN that have a bigger average but they are farther from home so, I fish for dinks or not at all

Front went through yesterday. Northeast wind 10 to 15. Bite was off but there was a mayfly hatch yesterday. Gills were tight against the rocks. Wood, gravel, nothing, rocks bingo!
