Ah this is a Coppernose,ok! I dont see those in my waters so thought it was a Gill from another region with coloring that differs from New Jersey types. I agree that the banding is a Male indication in Gills .Strange that in Female Pseeds it's said to be an indicator of a Female .That must make it confusing in a Hybrid PSXBG or CNXPS ! Interesting what you sa about the aggression differences .I'd like to see the size float you were using today .Got a pic handy?
I don't believe so John but I'm far from an expert....Specifically in the Coppernose...it seems to be the big males with the banding on them......The males that I caught today were striking more violently than the hens.....The bobber would plunge on the males and kind of slide to a slow sink for the hens...
Cool looking BGill Jeffrey! I was just putting up a blog on Pseeds and read that the Dark vertical bars are Female indicaters in Pseeds but I dont think thats true for Female Gills .Or is it?
