Smallmouth fishing is phenomenal up here. They're really good at managing the fishery here, on some lakes 50 - 100 fish days isn't unheard of. The gills are good here to, though pumpkinseeds are the more prevalent species.

There looked to be a thousand lakes around that area. I'd bet some of those would produce some great gillage! It's been 3 years since I fished Rice. We found some good gills and took home about 600 in two days. The smallmouth fishing there was OUTSTANDING!

Yes I've been to Rice, the fish aren't as big anymore in there I find. Too many of the Bullgills have been culled.. They're debating on adding a slot limit in there now i heard.

Hey, do you ever fish Rice lake area. If you're from the area there is probably better spots eh?
