Jim I looked at this photo again and the face does look Bluegillish and the main coloring is Sunfish or Pumpkinseed I guess you would say.

Well now Jim,I didn't think of that! In support of your thinking this WAS the ONLY Sunfish caught the entire 8 hrs.It was in with the many ,I mean many BGills the two of us caught.The Gills and this one questionable individual were responding to the small spoons featured on the 'Lure Bucket' . A few came on the Rebel Cricket too.
Now you got me wanting to know if Sunfish wont hang out with BGills on a day like that in Cupsaw lake.If so, where were they?Also I want to know why you think its a hybrid ...what do you see as BG about the fish pictured and what Sunfish Characteristics and coloring are you observing?
