Marisa... I caught these in the East end of the lake after a tough day of fishing.  We couldn't find the fish all day and then we found a small group of beds (they were very hard to see).. .

We use tiny jigs (1/100th ounce) tipped with a cricket or for these Redears we tipped the jig with small worms... Let the bait hit bottom and let it sit for a bit... then move it just a tiny bit and stop... and Hang on...

Man I would like to get into these somewhere.

Then again I would be happy just catching one from my pond.

I guess the challenge is what makes it fun.

Great fish.

Marisa, I caught these at Lake Perris in Southern California...  The fishing has been somewhat tough since they lowered the water level a few years ago... but there are some monsters in there... Lake Record is over 3 pounds... and I'd bet there's a four pounder in there just waiting for my jig to swim by... Sweet Dreams...

The Redears at Lake Perris are considerably thicker than the Bluegills... These produced some incredible fillets... Hush Puppies anyone ?
