I'm struggling to do the self-photo thing with this awesome , 6-pound plus white shad from a tributary of the Nanticoke River.

Most mid Atlantic states allow catch and release shad fishing for these tremendous fighters. Once heralded as a fine food fish and savory roes, shad numbers were depleted in the 1970's to late 1990's due to overharvest, pollution and poor spawning habitat. It was a joy to release this fish.
