I agree Sonny...if the fish are deep or are super light biters than 2 pound quality mono is a must. I can get away with 4 pound line in colored water or 6 feet or shallower. The gills in the local quarry won't go for 4 pound line. Gills in the off colored or tannin waters aren't spooked by 4 or even as high as 8-10 pound test.

Good Work!

Lot of the success Jim is because of the UL fishing. I look for stuff on the screen, watch the water & the birds. Lots of activity - troll faster, no activity - go slow and low. Light jigs (1/48th &1/32nd) troll on top and heavier jigs (1/24th ) to get down. 2lb. test only - 4lb is not Ultra Light.

Jigs I'm using, primarily, are 1/48th &1/32nd. Starting to go deeper - will probably start increasing the weight now. Tail material is either natural (unwashed) duck feathers or fluorescent gray marabou fluffs. HINT.

Great looking fish on the belly-spinners!

What is your retrieve/jigging pattern for these fish in the deeper water?
