Do you love big bluegill?

They taste good but Bruce Condello is right about slicing out a section with the funky taste.It's been a long time since I've eaten a White Perch so I forget where the section is but i think its a reddish color.I have not been keeping anything from my home Suburban community lake but sometimes keep from two other natural nearby lakes which don't have White Perch that I know of.
what's your opinion John on the palatability of these fish?
