Do you love big bluegill?

i use these with my fly rod;; are they to big??

Yes they are the correct size. These are about the size we used on Reelfoot many years ago. Also Ice fishing. A bobber should just barely float the bait.

when i used these; it was just a float; hook; line and a cricket! by the time the float hit; it was under!  the gills acted like pirannas !  i just had to reel them in!

In my opinion an angler should use the smallest size float they can get away with, depending on the conditions. And I also think the fish will indicate their preference, in a manner of speaking......wary, highly pressured fish may require more of a finesse presentation, while unpressured fish may be more forgiving and acceptable of a coarser presentation.

Size depends on when you're fishing and what your bait weight is.....I have several like this that I like but I go much larger in warm water....It boils down to your personal preference in my opinion Carl......
