Bluegill - Big Bluegill

Do you love big bluegill?

I fished in flooded cypress trees where our Shellcrackers like to eat freshwater clams and found a few takers.....The river otters get most of the clams but all the activity draws these guys in and they hang around to clean up

Thanks Troy.....Although I still think our water needs to warm up a bit to trigger the big spawn ......I was inspired earlier in the week when an excellent panfish angler Jack Sandlin smashed the crackers on a local river about 50 miles southwest of my location......you may have seen his post here or on crappie.com in the bluegill forum.......there is current in the river Jack fished but he was dialed in for sure.........we just need a little run of moderate nighttime temps and we will take off.......I didn't even talk about the crappie that I caught today because I like to dedicate the next four months to my favorite sunfish...BREAM! Good luck Troy and I know ya'll get them!
