The two koi ate every minnow. Now, there are only mosquito fish, which don't taste good, I guess. I bought 10 lbs of minnows and put them in the bluegill pond and the creek for the winter. I still have a lot there, maybe they will multiply in the spring.

I don't use the trap anymore, as it only catches the adults, which I want to leave in the pond. I use a net and catch them while they are feeding. They are all FHM.

how many is that usally and do you leave the trap in all week or just Thursday night, also are they mainly FHM or a mixture?

Yes, on Fri I move a load to either the pond or the creek.

Are you still moving minnows from this pond?

Have not seen any new pics so just wondering how the fishing is going.

The minnow pond is about 6' deep, 30' across. It has mosquito fish, minnows, and two koi in it. I feed the minnows AquaMax because that is the fish food I have, catch them in a trap, and transfer them to the pond and creek every few days. It is just a hole that the previous owners dug out, leaks, has no water source except rain. Has dried up once before we moved here. I put a hose in it if I have to in order to keep water in it. If you are building one, I would suggest pond liner unless there is a water source and you are sure the pond would hold water on it's own.

Please explain the minnow pond, I was considering building one. What size is that and how deep? What structure is in it? Do you feed them? What type of minnows are they?

Do you use them for baid or trap and release them to feed the fish?
