Do you love big bluegill?

I catch lots of them like this, that seem to be Green Sunfish X Bluegill Hybrids, but they almost all look just a little different from one to the next.

Now this one shows features of the female. lighter coloration , no distinct 'helmet' head. Regardless, its a beautiful fish. Congrats!

Honestly Walt, people have to beg and plead for the Ca DFG to stock "anything" in pretty much "any" of our public waters..... and so when they finally do stock anything, it is almost always Florida Strain Largemouth's, or hatchery trout.
I can pretty much guarantee that these are "all natural" hybrid sunnies.
BTW, do you, or anyone here, know if hybrid sunnies could still be fertile ?
