Well that may be so as I do not know about tadpoles. Do you happen to have a way to try to dip them up or a throw net?

If not maybe you can try to catch what ever the blobs are with your new trap.

I already have black blobs in the water. I thought they were bullfrog tadpoles.

Well not sure if it too late for the BH to spawn or not, but if you have a few this size they may spawn next year so just be on the look out for large black blobs in the water.

Plus if you do start using a trap they are pretty easy to catch with Dog or Cat Food in them.

I will be curious to see what else lurks in your water.

I have 25 bass (now 6" or better) in my 1/3 acre pond. At least I think I do, never see them.

Not sure what your Bass population is in the pond, but if you do not have many of them these bullheads may take over. Now if you enjoy catching them which they can be fun and you want them in there then that is not an issue. I just wanted to point this out.

I caught another one today that was even fatter, I put it back in the pond.

I don't know if it was pregnant, I'm just giving it the benefit of the doubt being that it's so fat. Maybe, just morbidly obese would be a better discription?

Late for spawning isnt it? Looks like that fat cat is feeding well!
