I forgot to tell you that when I use a No. 10 hook, I use a 5/32 gold bead.

No problem. I use 1/8 gold bead heads on the No. 12 nymph. The hook is Daiichi 1560 nymph. The SLF Dubbin Twists I use are tan, olive, dark olive and I believe natural. I use either pheasant tail for the tail or rubber hackle legs trimmed to about 1/8 inch. Simple.

It's best fished under a strike indiator. You put the indicator 2-3 feet above the fly, depending on the depth of the water your're fish. If you haven't used a strike indicator, it sometime can be difficulting interpreting what's going. When you get a strike, the indicator might no go under. It just might twitch. Or stop. Or dart slight. If it doesn't anything out of the ordinary, set the hook.

I use a VOSI (vertical oriented strike indiator) rather than commerically made indicators. I go to Wal-Mart, but the small foam perch bobbers and cut them in half (thus, two for one). You have to put them on your leader first, then tie your fly. You peg them in place.

Here's a link to the VOSI: http://www.laflyfish.com/flies/vosi.php

Steve, May I forward your photo of the Gibby's Plain Jane Nymph to my Iowa flytying supplier so he can match materials? He is not handy on the puter but super nice flyfisherman and carries full range of supplies. ole Mike

The only weight is the bead head. The body is made of Davey Woten's SLF Twists.

Steve, Thank you for adding the photo of that fly. Could I ask what the body dub is? Any weighting? It would save a bit of experimenting as I intend to greet the spring with this in my arsenal. Thanks again, ole Mike
