I'm surprised their range isn't larger, very cold water tolerant.....they bite good year round here once you locate them.......I've even found them in relatively shallow water during our coldest periods......they remain active during periods of hypoxia when most other species have all but quit feeding........cool overlooked species........

Thanks John......everything I've read over the years limits their range to the Potomac River Basin on the East coast.......

Love those fish ,wish we had them . Wonder how North they range!
