Caught a mess of these nice sunfish at Lake Charleston, Illinois one day last spring.

Jim, you're right! It's a Renosky crappie jig. The tiny silver minnow is on a one piece hook/orange weighted head.
I was using a bobber about 18 inches above the jig and cast towards the shoreline from the small fishing pier at the north end of Lake Charleston. For the hour I was there it was one fish after another. I usually release everything I catch, but there was a 4 year old boy and his grandmother trying to catch dinner, so I gave them some of the nice fat bluegills.

What type of jig is that? And the round piece? Strike indicator of some type?
