Bluegill - Big Bluegill

Do you love big bluegill?

This is my favorite hook for bluegill fishing and the one I use until the water is very warm. This light wire finesse hook features a micro barb to hold the bait and is the fastest, lightest hook for gills- match to 1.5 - 2 lb. leader and go to town.

John,
I purchased these hooks on a trip to China so I couldn't even relate the brand. Great hooks come out of Japan and then filter around the world. I will have some new hooks coming up this Spring. Also that is a #14 (all hook manufacturers differ in size)... Spring = 14, early Spring = 16.

You will notice this hook is snelled I believe strongly in the snelled hook set being a massive advantage.

Note this hook has a red finish- this one has gone through battle and those hard holding teeth do find a way to grind that finish off. After a couple hundred fish- I usually switch to a new one for a fresh, sharp point.

my favorite hook is an eagle claw golden, but this looks successful

This hook is perfectly matched to a single spike, waxworm or half a redworm.
It would work well also for floating crickets on the surface. It is VERY (light) so baits fall slowly through the water using this finesse hook. It's thin!
