My first try at big blue gill tacos: sprinle filet lightly with "Mrs Dash Southwest Chipotle seasoning" then a little more generous sprinkling of "Mrs Dash Fiesta Lime seasoning" into a hot skillet with a little oil.  Results into a warm flour tortilla topped with a little of my favorite slaw.  MMMM MMMM will definitely do it again

glad you had a great day! I went wed. afternoon and bite was somewhat cold (thirty four bream in the 7-9 inch class and one tiny crappie!) It did provide for my first stab at big blue gill tacos! LOL!!

All good ideas David.....I take advantage of the wind tides in my region every chance I get......Fish in my region become very active during these events and it can really turn an average trip into a great trip......

I want to go test the theory that fish bite after a rain, where moving water enters
a lake. The idea is that rain swelled creeks, washes, etc. carry food in the form of insects,
worms, fish fry and so on onto a larger body of water. Here, hungry fish Judi wait for the running water to carry a meal to them.
Another rain centered technique is to fish a live insect bait our fly
beneath overhanging trees, to duplicate bugs being knocked from the
branches by the rain.
I can think of several spots nearby where these ideas could be tried. Most BBG members can
probably do the same.

Thanks Vince...I never second guess my decision to fish a certain location when I catch fish like this.....I worked a newer spot on the river today and caught the water moving a bit and it seemed like all freshwater fish were active as a result.....Good luck behind the rains and I for one am glad that Andrea is picking up speed and screaming off to the northeast and ultimately out to sea......

That's a really good gill, Jeffrey. The forecast doesn't look any better here for the next few days. I hope to get out  some tomorrow before the real heavy rains set in.
