I agree Tony. The earflap really gives it the redbreast appearance. Although, i've never caught one colored this way, i'd say redbreast before i'd say anything else now that i've looked at it for a minute or two.

Bright fish, but i'm thinking it's not a gill. Maybe green sunfish. It's difficult to identify positively from the angle the photo was taken.
