Bluegill - Big Bluegill

Do you love big bluegill?

Almost 11" Redear Sunfish on large Redworm in heavy woods mixed with weeds in 4 feet deep near Chicago. I was in heavy woods and limit place to fish from shore and I pulled my long rod up and the rod's tip broken! Redear Sunfish is almost 11 inch, thick body and easy over one pound! I used 6 lbs test line for around and in heavy covers. I lost my ruler so I used ten dollar bill for measure. I measure on my fishing rod at home. Its almost 11 inch long. Not bad for close to Chicago!

That's a dandy redear anywhere in the country, but in Chicago it's a trophy to be honest. Redear's are basically all I target here in Southern Indiana across from Louisville KY. I have a hard time locating 11 inchers. Great fish!
