Very nice rock bass! I have caught several of them near Lake Erie and I have had lots of fun catching them! They are really fun to catch when they near that 10-11inch mark.

I usually let them go, but if im catching lots of gills I keep them just as a bonus to my limit of fish. I dont keep these big ones, just like any other fish when they get huge they dont taste as good, but 7-9 inchers taste good to me.

Outstanding fish! We used to catch them in our local streams wet wading for smallmouths. Sometimes rockies and sunfish would save the day if the bass weren't bitin.

I caught about 15 like this Biggest ones I have ever seen. I was after gills in my late spring spot, but when I went to the corner that I always fish apparently over the winter the property had sold and they dumped boulders onto the shore and these fish were just stacked in them rocks. I had a 11.25 inch female that I probably should have weighed, I have a picture somewhere...oh well I released them all anyways.

they are tons of fun when you are on a bunch. 2lb is correct though, they run out of gas fast. You usually think you have a real nice fish on for the first secon or two...then they turn into a wet rag.
