Do you love big bluegill?
PS/BG Hyb in Pond 8-13-10
Not sure - but I thought this was a cross. Anyone have any thoughts on it?

Thanks Bruce - in 2008 - I stocked our pond with about 200 BG from the lake down the road. I wanted Native Bluegills -so I carefully culled out Pumpkinseeds, crappies, etc - I was surprised to see this one in the pond a couple years down the road. I think she's to big to be a native of the pond - I'm pretty sure I must have stocked her - and that shee looked more BG-like when she was small. Its a nice fish though - and I sent her back into the pond - l doub't she'll have much of a genetic impact on the BG that I wanted.

It's a beautiful fish--and yes, I think it's a cross. What's the story? Are there native BG and PS in this body of water?
