Well Gee thanks Jim but what about observations on WHY i did...what happened? ..i can only imagine...did it want to eat the lure or chase it away?

It's official...you are the only man I have ever known who has caught a tiger trout on a Rattle-Trap in muddy water by snagging it in the tail! I can't even come close to that!

Did you go buy a lottery ticket. That is such a cool trout!

Yes Bruce LOL!I always use Rattletraps on Medium Baitcasting rods for small trout.

Seriously though ,the Trout jumped before I realized he was on .Thought I lost him because I couldnt feel him. I caught up to him by reeling fast.At that point he was almost under the boat heading for deeper water and fighting hard for a 14" fish.

The interesting thing is I 'm wondering if he tried to stun his bait by slapping it with it's tail before eating his prey.Possibly it was a territorial strike to chase away a competing species.Or was this just a fluke.(No pun intented)I cant believe that this trout didnt want to either antogonize my lure or eat it.
Asking the fish will do no good ,its frozen in my basement freezer. :-)
