Do you love big bluegill?
Had a five bass bag that went 21 pounds and 13 ounces...Didn't start out looking for bass but they found me as they are staged to go shallow so they were busting my grass shrimp tipped jigs around cover......This fish was just short of 21 Inches long.....

Pretty fish Jeffrey....
Thanks Mark....I didn't have a lot of confidence with the stained water and super low conditions.......kind of backed into the bass thing fishing at the creek mouths in the moving water......didn't even have a rod n' reel on the boat....that made the game warden laugh too when I asked him to take this picture.......We're not quite there on the panfish but we should gain some ground this week.......I heard that Northwest was dirty still from last week's weather......You going to get out soon Mark?
Sounds like a great day on the water and congrats on that 6 pounder!
The only time I've seen that kind of mottling on the back, not the lateral stripe, of a bass, with the horizontal lines on the belly where the white meets green, is on a Spotted Bass, a.k.a. "Kentucky Bass". Interesting. Did it have a tooth patch on it's tongue?
I like the jig. Is that two colors of crystal chenille woven together?
It's a Largemouth Allen......
Nice! Was that a Spotted Bass / Kentucky Bass, or a LMB?
I brought this fish back to the launch hoping a friend could get a couple photos before release.....Turns out a North Carolina Warden was sitting at the launch today, so after he verified my compliance with all regulations....I got him to take this picture and then I turned this big girl loose on the Pasquotank........
