Do you love big bluegill?

Thanks Adam...it is an oddball.
We have caught many p-seed X bluegill hybs here, and they look noticably different from this fish...much deeper body, dark rust colored breast and much lighter, narrower crescent on the eartab. Funny, we have caught no greenies here that I have seen. I did catch another oddball that had some distinctive red ear mottling on the cheeks and below the eye...no wavey blue /turquoise marks like the other p-gills or pure p-seeds here.
I did however, hook, play then lose a 30-inch class channel cat here a few weeks ago that I got a real good look at before the fish zipped off with my 2-pound test. Could be other surprises here as well.
I'd have to agree with you, Jim. The facial markings as well as those at the base of the the caudal, anal, and dorsal, though not as defined and bright, seem lend to a P-seed influence. The larger mouth, longer profile, and the breast color all seem to come from a greenie. I've also not seen a p-gill with the margin on the operculum look like the one on this fish. Very cool fish, congrats.
Nice Fish yea , that mouth looks Green sunfish size ,but then again it is a big pseed! ,or hybrid.
thats a nice mixed breed of a gill ! looks cold where your fishing at !
