BEC is a local creek, named for the county where i live, its called big escambia creek. up until a couple of years ago, there was a 2 mile long log jam. after about 30 years of attempts alabama politicians finally got money and florida to help, and when cleaned out (most of it was re-routed), it dropped the level to nearly 5 feet less than had been. so now it rarely gets out of the banks. before it would only take a little rain and it would be in the highway, and homes, and the local park.

We have a local Hennepen canal where there are a bunch like that. Fortunately there are some larger also. What or where is the BEC
