I have had good luck with this little plug. It is a floater/ diver and is small enough for big bluegill. Crappie and bass like it too, it says 2 to 6 ft but I don't know if it will go that deep.

Tie a small snap-swivel onto your line, then use that to attach the lure. This will add enough weight to turn the lure either neutral-bouyant, or slightly negative-bouyant. 6' dives will be possible then.

They stock a black on chrome version I'm gonna pick up and try soon but it will be hard pressed to out perform this pattern, but I hope it does.
