Tie a small snap-swivel onto your line, then use that to attach the lure. This will add enough weight to turn the lure either neutral-bouyant, or slightly negative-bouyant. 6' dives will be possible then.
you cant go wrong with this crankbait !
They stock a black on chrome version I'm gonna pick up and try soon but it will be hard pressed to out perform this pattern, but I hope it does.

This is one my favorites. It floats and dives, just cast, let settle, twitch then retrieve. Deadly for sure.
slip stinker;; we get these crankbaits from wally world great little crankbaits ! generally;; 2 different aisle for these;;; at least around my area..

great little crank baits here !! but i usually trade the back treble hook out for a single hook !! makes un hooking easier !
