Nuclear ants.....they come in a bewildering array of colors, and have replaceable "spiders"..I buy the spiders to add to other jigs, too.

If one is interested in cold water fishing, or even looking for ideas to help create your own lures, you really need to order a couple catalogs... One from Northland Tackle, and the other is from Custom Jigs and Spins......

Just as good as the Christmas catalogs from yesteryear!

Understand All......those little hooks are sharp though.....noticed that......I had a good hook set ratio yesterday......

Also Jeffrey don't know what the sharpie scent on the spider will do to it? I suppose if you had a sharpie that smelled like a grass shrimp it would work on anything!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Oh yea on the slow fall but I basically never use em that way. I always fish em on the surface with the fly rod or spinning with bobber.  LOts of fellas do use em with a spit shot. Durability is dependent on how you remove em. Got to use the hook to extract em not the body...........

I like the way you can manipulate the foam spiders..........I played with it in the swimming pool first to get the drop I wanted and that slow fall looks deadly in the spring.......

I THINK THESE ARE CALLED ATOMIC ANTS and are made in Iowa . They also are lead I think and will sink faster than the foam ones.
