Do you love big bluegill?

Our shoreline tactic paid off with float & fly efforts with tipped jigs with worm,, meal worms and grass shrimp.

John...I think they could do well in NJ...they live in many environs w/pickerel and largemouths...could get big!

Nice Jim! Do you think Red Ears could take in  NJ waters ?

Comment by Jim Gronaw on March 12, 2016 at 8:52am

Thanks, guys!

Carl...I am finding more red ears water thanks to the Maryland DNR efforts in stocking them in many community and small public lakes where they can grow pretty big!

Thanks Slip. Crackers get to 12-13 inches in Delmarva area millponds...one of my top panfish destinations in the In Fish Guide. Delaware record is just over 3 pounds. I have caught numerous 11 to 12 inches, mostly in public lakes along the Mason Dixon.

…nice crisp colors... how large do they get in your area?

Comment by Jim Gronaw on March 12, 2016 at 7:47am

Thanks Adam. These were literally 'drive-by' fish that anyone could have caught...if they were targeting them. All of these fish were caught just literally a few yards, even feet away, from where we parked the truck!
