I got to see the fish in person. I think it was 11 5/8 inches. It weighed 1-11.

That is an outstanding bluegill. Bet you didn't think it was a bluegill when you first hooked it. My grandson hooked a big female last year and when I asked him if he hooked a bluegill he said "No grandpa, I think it is a giant pike or musky!" I said; "So you think it's a big one?", to which he replied; "Ooooh man!" lol
