Fishing from a lawn chair? Great looking crappie - I love to catch them through the ice.

I hear that Vince....the only thing I worry about in some of the pits is food availability.....I think the gills are stunted in this body of water despite a nice population of big bass.....Some of the Crappie look thin at times too.....

Sand pits can be a blast to fish! I have caught some of my nicest gills from them, and got a big fish award back in the late 70's, for a yellow bass from the state of IA. I caught it in a sand pit as well.

This is a 12 acre sand pit...that's why these fish come out so light colored......This is close to the house and easy to take the kids to........Big Channel Cats and a 12 pound Largemouth has been caught and released in the past few years......

Great crappie, Jeffrey! Is that a lake behind you? Had to work all weekend here, but after tomorrow I will be off for 4 days. I hope these 70 degree days hold up through Saturday.

I wanted to get back on these fish today but it'll be the weekend before I can with a long work week ahead......

Thanks Tony.....I have a tough work schedule this week so I decided to release all of today's fish.....Turned some good eaters back today but it was fun....
