I would consider that fish to be a Redear dominant, Redear x Bluegill cross......a Gillcracker.

The mouth was not any larger than a normal bluegill, which made me lean towards it being a hybrid cross of bluegill and redear sunfish..

I would vote gillcracker because of the opercular tab which is too big for a redear, and the color on the breast as Jim noted.

Gillcracker or a strait red ear...I'm leanin to a pure RE sunfish...can't quite see the mouth enough, though. But does appear to have copper colors on the breast.
