Just guessing this one hatched four years ago, possibly three. I have pictures from last year of the same RES that I caught in late August then again five weeks later in early October, it gained an inch in length in just five weeks. It was identifiable from the unique markings on its cheek. Keep in mind that growth rates in Nebraska will be a lot slower than they are in Southern waters.
