I think the color of the LMB has to do with the water color. It seems like anywater I fish that is brown or turbid the fish seem more white or pale.
When fishing clear water they seem to have a darker color, that is just my experience.

I think the water temp might have the most to do with the color or lack of color Small pond and lots of small bass. Water was in the 50's. They hit everythiong that we fish with.

I am curious about the water temp and activity level of this pale looking Bass .
I suppose since you re catching a lot they are very active and color has to do with hue of the fishes surroundings, not inactivity .I have a friend who thinks coloring like this reflects inactivity ...I believe this post proves him wrong!

cool! There is a bass pond here in MN that has a bunch of these too. I swear, every cast you catch them this size and its always this size only too. Last I went, the water was thsi color too.
