9+ Inch Male BG 9-6-08 - Immature?
This nice boy's colors were not as vivid or "mature" as most of the other male BG I have in my pond in his size range. I suspect (hope) he has not matured yet and will have continued good growth now that he has been moved to a smaller pond with no female BG.

I'd say that fish is mature, but not obsessed with year around spawning. Definitely a fish with incredible potential. Relative weight in the 140-150 range given the weight of 1 lb and 1.25 ounces. Congratulations, you're entering the bluegill growing stratosphere.
