Bob Lusk, editor of Pond Boss magazine caught a killer bluegill on August 17, 2008. I think we're gonna need to do a story on this fish. More as it comes out.

My god, check out that cro-magnon hump on that fish's head. Very impressive.

Male in breedings colors makes it naturally dark, but often when you handle one of those agressive males they will immediately start getting even darker because it's their agression mode. Then if you put them in a white bucket it can get even more accentuated.

This fish is striking in appearence! What makes this fish so dark?
That is the coolest thing I've ever seen! I caught a big black like that but it was 3/4 pound. It came out from under a river bank to pop my hair jig. It had a red lateral line or "stitch" line on its side. The lateral line if you were wondering is a sequence of nerve endings in which fish sense for movement within the water column. You've seen it on all fish.
