2 lb., 4 ounce bluegill caught in Nebraska. This huge bluegill was one of several two pounders caught in Nebraska at Pelican Lake over a three year period in the mid-nineties.

Bruce,
What is the state of Pelican Lake now-a-days? Is it still pumping out the big Gills?

Thats super fish! Its every big bluegill fans' dream to catch like that! I heard alot about Pelican Lake in Nebraska! I think that Dave Genz (Mr. Icefishing) caught a monster 'gill from there on the ice fishing, his great book BLUEGILL! One great article in an In' Fisherman about study on big bluegills movement in Pelican Lake. Some day I would love to fish there! Live bait around weedbeds off the shore! Average depth in Pelican lake is only 4 feet deep and food is everywhere plus good number of bass and pike.....trophy bluegills! Thanks for the great picture!
