Smallmouth Bass and rock bass have red eyes!
I caught and release some bluegills in Florida that have little red in the eyes! I will go to Florida in March for big bass and big bluegills. I will digital photograph close up on bluegill's eyes to show you! Maybe something to do with lot of weeds and warm water but I don't know! Bluegills have more purple body in Florida like you see my photo!

Very cool picture. Never saw a red eyed bluegill. Where I live some of the smallmouth bass have red eyes like this one.
