Kelly you are correct on the 100+ count fishing trips… looking over my trip logs and fish totals it is more common than not… easily spoiled by this great presentation.

My cousin Earl fishes with me a lot… he will put the meat on the jig and has done well and kept step for step with me and the waxies. He will tip with night crawler bits. I am very curious on your productivity with the new tippings. Keep us posted!

Haven't fished much this Summer but when I get a chance go to my local reservoir which is only about 8 acres. If I'm not up in the river fishing then I'm basically doing what you are by fishing the weed edges, which are about 4-7-8 feet depth. Mostly yellow perch in there with some crappie and redear sunfish. The latter are really small, barely 5" but the perch and crappie can get nice. Some days the tiny jig/waxie can take 100 fish. There are smallmouth in here too with the rare musky but so far this year on SM I've caught were tiny-like 2-3 inches.

Aboout ready to put some meat on the tiny jigs, red wigglers that I've been raising all year. Most are 1-2" in length but really squirmy when put on the hook.

...thanks Kelly!...been stuck for awhile fishing the flats 10' or less much of the time the past few years... what I mean by “stuck” is that they have been so productive… why quit a good thing?... today was no different... my home lake, large reservoir has these vast flats in that range with large clumps of weed beds reaching the surface. i fished the edges.
