Un-real... what a fish, Bruce! I caught one almost as big, in 1992, in eastern Nebraska; private farm pond, quarter-ounce yellow rooster tail. (that pond produced the NE state record BG, btw) Anyhow, what made it special wasn't the size, over #2... but the fact that he nailed the rooster tail before it hit water... as in, two feet of air! Never saw a bluegill jump for food before, but it was a hoot. Lord, I do miss that pond.

I have photos of the 14" that I hope will be relesed in a story in Pond Boss, but first I have to make sure which ones they want to use, and I'll put the rest here.  Both fish were lighter when they were caught, and darkened up when they were briefly put in the livewell.

Was the 14" fish lighter Bruce? Do you have a photo of the 14"?

Yes. 3 lbs, 1 oz....and 13.5 inches. My other big fish was 14 inches.
